(no subject)
alright, its been about a thousand years since i last updated so here goes. i just got back from leave. it was awesome. i didn't really do all that much, which was great. i didn't want to have everything planned out ahead, so i just went with it. i got to see pretty much my entire family and most of my friends. here is sort of a top 10 events that i did whilst on leave...in no particular order:
1. got a standing ovation at the dallas airport, and was told "welcome home doc" by a veteran marine...one of the greatest honors i've ever received.
2. got to see my brother for the first time in almost 2 years.
3. got to play with my dog.
4. went to my church.
5. fell in love with the game of golf...which i am absolutely horrible at, but it sure is fun.
6. went hunting with my dad and brother.
7. visited my grandads grave for the first time, he died a month after i got here...one of the most dificult things i have ever done.
8. got to give a little bit back to my parents for all the crap they've helped me out with over the years.
9. met a girl...which i'm sure will turn out to be nothing, but met a girl nonetheless.
10. got to have thanksgiving dinner with both sides of my family.
so there you go, there's my list. i really did have a ball. it really sucks being back here, but what can ya do? only 3 more months, though. i'll try to do better on the posts.
oh yeah, i also picked up the next rank while i was home. that's pretty cool i guess.
