So, I'm not the only little kid who secretly wished for tornados. nikisublime June 26 2004, 08:34:00 UTC
We'd never know beauty without horror standing right next to it.

So long as (hu)man reigns on earth, so shall this set of fucked dynamics.

Maybe dogs hear beautiful symphonies in their heads, and don't feel the need to reproduce them for others to buy buy buy and fawn over and approve of and validate their existence.

The only hope that is left (as a human, in my opinion) is the faith that the individual can make a difference. No matter what anybody says, I will always have faith that this is true, even if I'm a blind fool.

I think Empedocles said that a world ruled by love was formless and unchanging, and that a world ruled by strife was something akin to an especially explosive dance of the Nataraja, 24-7. In a way, we need some terrible things to happen, to really show mankind's true nature, let its sometimes oily, greasy, evil facets glisten under scrutinizing light. We need a never-ending process of strife fighting love fighting strife, because humans will never be content with just one. We always feel like we need to be working towards something, some change. We are keen on strife, and we think we want love, but what it is, is that we love strife. It is an Ouroborous of doom.

What are our options, upon that realization?
Don't let it all make you numb: Let it ignite a fire in you.
