Good Ideas

It is a good idea, for example, to keep the Live Journal up to date. The problem with good ideas is executing them. It is a good idea to exercise at least 1/2hour a day. I find it difficult to do so. I am reading a book on the value of four. It's thesis contends that, if you do something four consecutive days, you are very close to establishing that behavior as a habit. Hmm - I am trying to try out this hypothesis.
We have been watching Bill Moyers (Fri. night on wttw). He had Julian Schnabel on as a guest. Julian Schnabel is an artist (paintings in the Met. Museum, current show in NYC with navigation charts) and a director of films (the latest Diving Bell and Butterfly). He is not a writer but is a very creative sensitive person. Many of his mannerisms bring to mind Sean. The Diving Bell and Butterfly is in French from a book written by a person who could only interact with the world through eye blinks. However, his imagination and memory remained intact. How he dealt with this condition is thought provoking.
We are covered in snow. There is a downy woodpecker that visits the suet feeder along with cardinals and chickadees. Then there are a lot of little brown birds, finches and morning doves. The river birch has grown strong enough to hold the visitors. We watch them during meals.
I feel I am slowly awakening from my habitual brain hibernation of January. In my view, everyone should go for out door walks, read by the fire and drink hot chocolate for the month of January.
