Nothing Terribly Exciting

Self-explanatory title.

My last drill weekend was apparently Family Day. It wasn't bad. I dunked my detachment sergeant in the dunking booth and he dunked me. We have it out for each other. It's a bond we share. Oh, remember that medal I thought I was getting? Yeah, they gave it to me at the end of Family Day. My sergeant, Wellington, had just thrown me into the dunktank before we were called to a formation. Keep in mind that this is in civilian clothes. My commander called forth the fellas recieving the medals and i was last. I ran up and skidded to a stop in my drench Converse All-Stars. I heard some laughter from the crowd of family memembers that were watching. So the commander comes to me and Im dripping wet in my button-down shirt, bathing suit, and All-Stars. He chuckles a bit whilst giving me congrats.

It says Private First Class on the document and now I'm a Specialist, but I dont care. It's an honor to recieve that medal...especially when I did nothing to earn it.
