Hands off Characters!

I've been wanting to do a post like this for a long time. Since I've gotten some new friends on my flisty, I figured now is the perfect time. This is a list of what I consider to be my "HANDS OFF" characters. Characters that are so beloved by me that I can't stand hearing people badmouth them.

#1. Chloe Sullivan

Chloe Sullivan is my be all and end all! She really is. I love her completely and unapologetically. All of her flaws and failings make her that much more real and tangible. She is not perfect, but she has never claimed to be. IMO, Chloe is the most developed character in the canon of Smallville. I have grown up beside her; watched her; emulated her; learned from her... I could go on (and I will). I have watched Chloe learn what it means to be a friend; what it means to be loyal; what it means to be selfless and then learn that your sacrifices don't always mean the same to those whom you've sacrificed for. I've watched Chloe learn what it is to lose faith in the people that you trust the most. I've watched Chloe learn what it means to be at a crossroads and CHANGE YOUR MIND about what you want to do with your life. All of these life lessons are wrapped up in this beautiful, petite, blonde package exceptionally portrayed by the very underrated Allison Mack, whom I can find absolutely NO FAULT with!

And between two of my favorites

By extension my “hands off” also extends to Allison Mack. To say that she is a brilliant actor wouldn't even be sufficient. She has a way of bringing the performances of other actors to a higher level, ie. Tom, Kristin, Michael, John (Glover) and especially with Justin lately. The chemistry that she seems to always have with other actors is inexplicable. It's the very reason I shipped Chlex and Chlavis against all odds. I can agree with Mr. Tom Welling that she is simply “tremendous.” I love her chemistry with Tom and though I'm not a shipper of Chlark romantically. I do have a great love of their friendship and I think that the amazing real life friendship between Tom and Allison resonates into their characters. There's this thing that happens to Tom's eyes when he's looking at Allison in scenes. He seems to sparkle at her and even when he's supposed to be playing Clark angry with Chloe, it seems like he can't fully commit to that anger.

I think this video is a perfect example of Allison and Tom's chemistry.
