I think I rewatched the Chlollie scenes all night to the point of falling asleep with my TiVo remote in my hand and I didn't realize it until my dad woke me up for breakfast this morning. LOL!
The first Chlollie scene with Oliver explaining to Chloe that those messages between him and Canary were purely platonic as if she'd questioned him was so freaking cute. And Chloe in her adorableness wanting to focus on the job gave me a wistful sigh. Upon rewatch I realized (or wanked) that even though Oliver comments on Chloe's monitoring of phone conversations, bank records, Amazon wishlist, he's not truly bothered by it and then she goes over to the screen to move the mouse and purposefully reveals the email monitoring screen, as if to tease him like he's been flirting with her and she's got something on him now and that's when he makes sure to tell her that things between him and Canary are purely platonic. And the cutest part of the first Chlollie scene is when Chloe tells Oliver that "we" need to get Pemberton's Glowing staff that just happens to be in police evidence and Oliver remarks, "We meaning me. Right." and Chloe gives him this smile and Oliver is absolutely enamored, it's all over his face!
OK so the Icicle(jr.) introduction in the Checkmate headquarters is so freaking BADASS! The direction plus the score is GENIUS! This is when I actually felt like I was watching a MOVIE and not simply two episodes of Smallville airing back to back.
There's a Chlollie phone call here where Oliver calls Chloe and tells her that Pemberton's staff is missing from lock up and she tells him that they NEED to track it down just as Oliver notices Stargirl waltzing down the street with it in broad daylight.
The 2nd Chollie scene is obviously the introduction of the Sullivan and Queen detective agency. Chloe and Oliver are sleuthing for Pemberton's car and they find it in a lot behind Grant's gym. Chloe has on the cutest coat I've seen all seaon. I WANT THAT COAT! Allison/Justin are just amazingly HOT together. Oliver was going to pick the lock on the car door, but Chloe simply tried the handle and it was open. There's a moment where she's reaching into the car and he's standing behind her and I SWEAR he's checking her out.
The third Chlollie scene, Oliver is doing his Green Arrow thing. He's on the phone with Chloe while he's tailing Stargirl and Icicle shows up. He actually timely interrupts the fight between Stargirl and Icicle and, of course no good deed goes unpunished because, that's when Hawkman swoops down and takes off with him. Chloe is still on the phone, she's concerned and that's when Hawkman proceeds to toss Oliver through the watchtower window. Let me just say that my dad was in the room with me and my sis while we were watching live and as we were gasping about Oliver's possible injuries, my dad was laughing about how in character that was for Hawkman.
The fourth Chlollie scene and my favorite has to be the nurse/wound tending scene, which picks up directly following Oliver's crash through the window. OMG The level of comfort between Chloe/Oliver conveyed in this scene was beyond anything I imagined would actually be portrayed on the show. I mean of course I've read it in fics but to actually see this on the show and it be canon, unbelievable. As Chloe is swabbing cuts on Oliver's arm and forehead, possibly with some kind of iodine, he is watching her and as he talks about where "pigeon man" has possibly hidden Clark there's this exchange between them...
"Ow."
"I thought you said it didn't hurt."
"I lied."
"You know, you're lucky he didn't drop you from ten stories up."
"I don't feel lucky. As much as I hate to admit it, these people really know what they're doing."
"Ow."
So Chloe is standing between Oliver's legs while he sits on the edge of the desk and she's grasping the back of his neck... :::DIES:: Upon rewatch I couldn't help wondering if Oliver's hands were on Chloe's waist at any point ::FLAILS:: and I realized that NurseChloe becomes irritated with Oliver when he comments that he doesn't feel lucky (about having minor cuts and scrapes when he COULD have potentially been severely injured had Hawkman dropped him from any higher) and she gets a little forceful with him causing his second "Ow."
I just have to mention that I know that J'onn J'onzz is a detective now and police departments never have expensive budgets, but a ROTARY phone. Seriously Smallville producers, are you telling me that Metropolis PD is still using ROTARY phones!
There's another Chlollie phone call in the 2nd hour of AJ during the Chloe/Stargirl conversation, where she tells Chloe that the JSA was like a family.
Although Chloe and Oliver are interspersed in the 2nd half of AJ, the 5th Chlollie scene doesn't come until the end of the episode when Chloe is cleaning up watchtower after the epic Clark/Hawkman/Stargirl/Green Arrow v/s Icicle battle and MM comes to talk to her about isolating herself and running the risk of acquiring too much knowledge that could potentially harm her. After he tells her that he considers her, Oliver and Clark his family, Oliver arrives with a dinner invitation that I'm sure was intended just for Chloe because he didn't expect J'onn to be there and he has this OH SO CHARMING "little boy" smile on his face, that Chloe can't refuse and they all leave together. Upon rewatch I noticed how nervous and anxious Oliver is when he arrives to invite Chloe to dinner. SOOOO unbelievably adorable!
I will probably SQUEE MOAR in a bit, but I just had to post about my Absolute Justice Chlollie rewatch!
