Thinking time

So today, I went on a walk. It was a bit chilly, but warm enough as so all I needed was my hoodie and a good pair of pants. First time in ages I just spent some time on my own, away from computers and games, comics and manga, movies, anime, cartoons.

And in just that hour I spent with me, the sky, and the houses around, I had a thought. Probably not the most original thought, and probably thought by many old souls who have come before me in the thousands of years we humans have been around. But it was a thought, and a thought still all my own.

We are all too caught up. Too stuck in our own little worlds. We don't notice anything, not the people around us, not the animals and trees and bushes, not even the fucking car as it whisks past you on a cold night.

And I started thinking, why? We've gone against mostly all of our natural instincts, took over the Earth and spread like wildfire. And yet we can't just STOP for a moment and just take in the sun, without worrying that it'll burn you and you then can't wear that pretty dress your boyfriend bought for you. Can't sit down and watch a squirrel scurry across the grass without thinking that it's nothing but vermin.

We take so much for granted, in this beautiful world we've turned so dark and gray.

But that's just the thought of someone who hasn't even been on the planet for Two Decades, so what do I know?
