From the first SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL. Similar short features were drawn by Jack Kirby and by Gene Colan showing how they worked with Lee (with similar complaining such as is found in every workplace). Since Lee wrote and edited the dialogue and captions, we can assume this is his familiar self-deprecating humor at work. Not too long after this, the relationship between the two men had deteriorated to the point where they weren't speaking and Ditko used to leave notes so he wouldn't have to face Lee in person. Honestly, I blame some of this on Ayn Rand but I've never liked her philosophy.
My favorite bit is the spiders pitching in to help with the art.
Also, I love the line "Stan leaves to have a similar fight with Jack Kirby." Great Art never comes easily.
