Another Charles Addams cartoon I didn't get as a ten-year-old
I don't know if I mentioned this before, but when I was ten, my mother gave me a note every day saying it was okay for me to cross the street from the school to a small Mom & Pop store that sold comics, old paperbacks and stuff like FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND. That was where my lunch money went. I could wait until I got home for a PBJ and milk while devouring my new treasures.
Anyway, the store had some slim paperbacks reprinting Charles Addams cartoons and I was immediately smitten. But, after all, the cartoons dated back to the 1930s and I was still ten years old, so a lot of them just made no sense to me. This was one that puzzled me for years.
