Very droll, Mr Bama

I may as well have a James Bama festival, you could certainly do worse. This is the cover to John Pearson's THE LIFE OF IAN FLEMING (1966, this Bantam paperback came out in May of the following year). The women in the Honey Ryder and Jill Masterson modes are done well enough, although not specifically modelled on Ursual Andress and Shirley Eaton. But what slays me is the figure of James Bond himself. Bama has put Ian Fleming's face on the classic Sean Connery pose and for that he gets ten Hidalgo points. (The biography is well done, too, I referred to it many times while writing my reviews.)
