NaNoWriMo day 10, Winter is Coming, 6-point buck in my headlights
10 November 2017
Well, I know “Winter is Coming” is a valid phrase - if 20 something temperatures arrives with 30mph. It was blustery today. It also snowed (sigh). The horses were NOT happy with the weather and were even more displeased when nitwit hunters started shooting at things in the woods (the horses were NOT at risk - or so I suppose). They did run around with lots of snorting and raised heads looking into the woods. This time of year is VERY hard on the (and me).
I was driving home with daylight running lights. I came to the top of the driveway’s ascent and there before me was a magnificent 6 (or is it 12) point stag stared back at me from the middle of the driveway. The hunters might have spooked it into early movement. In any case it stood there long enough for me to appreciate its size and apparent excellent health and stature and then bounded into the woods on the other side (towards the our octagonal barn).
16577 Words so far on the novel for NaNoWriMo. The website says I’ll finish by December 1. That’d be a day late. I have the weekend to catch up. That’ll be fine with me. I had to stop tonight because I was a bit Brain-Fried.
More later,
