The pictures were only a few of many. I am very glad for my group who said - "Go For It"

We had a big book of Mother Goose rhymes when I was a kid, and I read them over and over. Here's the one you're thinking of:

To market, to market, to buy a fat pig,
Home again, home again, dancing a jig;
To market, to market, to buy a fat hog;
Home again, home again, jiggety-jog;
To market, to market, to buy a plum bun,
Home again, home again, market is done.

It sounds like it was a lovely experience, and lovely to come home, too.

That is exactly the poem. My parents would read from it until we could do for ourselves.
Thank you,

I figured that the pictures would offer a few thousand words to my poor verbal skills. It was spectacular.

I am not sure how you described the island but to me it looked like a tan island set as a gem in the deep blue sea.

The narrow beach below really steep cliffs matches, though, along with houses perched at the tops of those cliffs. (I was unclear in my request, I suspect; I was really asking about the western end of Crete itself, looking up from the beach. And you gave it to me all unsolicited!)

Thanks!

Glad you're home safely and have good memories of the trip. The pictures are gorgeous!

And..my grandparents always did that "home again, home again, jiggety jog" thing with us kids - and then my folks did too. Now I do it with my kids. :P Should do some digging to find out just how old it is...
