(Sunday nearling dusk)
(Woods on the outskirts of town)
Marbas carries us on swift legs out past the houses and farms, out past where people might see, not to the fields where we have burned large swatches, but out to the lonely and desolate woods. Need to get away, the urge to rend and tear and maim and kill and destroy swirl within us.... can't be near Wanda, oh no, she'd not be safe, not in the slightest.
Deep, deep, deep into the darkening woods we go. I wonder if there is purpose, rhyme or reason to this...
You'll see Lucien, you'll see.... need to work this rage and pain off.... and I think I'm strong enough now...
Strong enough for what?
Finally he.... we.... stop. I'm giving you control back for a bit Lucien, you'll need to work some of this off yourself.... Marbas slips into the background, and .......
If anyone were near, one would think a human was being rended to pieces. Screaming incoherently, releasing some of the Darkness back to the world.... I all but scream myself hoarse. I have no idea how much time has passed, but the sun has sunk to a point where the shadows are thicker than the light. But it's still there.... still prevelant.
It wasn't enough, Marbas, it didn't help.... I still want to--
I know. Lucien, I haven't done this in an eon, but I think it will work. Give me the physical back, and you'll see.... we can work this off.
Fuck it, why not? Close my eyes, and give over my will, expecting wings to burst out my back....
but the sensation that rolls over me is completely different, alien, and after the world stops spinning, I open my eyes, and find my perceptions are very different. Hearing acute, olfactory almost painfully sharp, eyesight .....
Shake my head to clear it, and find it heavy.... look down.....
Marbas.....? Are we actually....... a lion right now? I echo in my head, staring down at PAWS, opening my mouth to speak, and my large jaw opening to emit a rumbling growl. Take a few tentative steps on four feet instead of two, the feline grace coming far too easily.
Marbas laughs, laughs in delight. Ah, now this I've missed.. We seem to be sharing control of this form, and he stretches us out, reveling in the large cat's body and muscle. Leans up and rakes claws down a tree.
I believe there's a bear's den about three miles off. Marbas suggests slyly, a felines grin splitting our face. And truly, a hunt and a kill may be the best way to work off some of your agressions towards your woman. He laughs again, and our nose angles up in the air, picking up the scent of a large, male, black bear. The lion quivers in anticipation.... as do I. Yes, killing something would really take the edge off, wouldn't it?
Throwing my... our head back, we roar. A loud, deep, trumpeting call to the night and to the hunt and to the kill...
and race off towards fresh blood.
Very good idea indeed....
