At my favorite coffeeshop, Goa, there's a series of house notebooks where people can write and draw stoned shit. On our trip in November, I found a page with the wonderful motto, "IT'S WAFFLE TIME, BEEYOTCH." It is always going to be waffle time, beeyotch for me on this trip. I like the half chocolate/half strawberry ones and the chocolate ones sprinkled with peanuts best.

Goa doesn't have the best weed by a long shot, but I love the comfortable atmosphere and make sure to spend enough on drinks, etc. to make up for the fact that I only buy one or two grams of weed there. And stroopwaffels and slagroom soesjes and Vlaamse Frites stands and broodjeharing and hell, even Febo!

Best product for my euro is at Grey Area, the Green Place (new), and the much-hyped but deserving Greenhouse.

What I don't understand is what happened to HEMA. It used to be a wonderful five-and-dime-type store with interesting Dutch hygiene products and the world's best socks (I have 2 pairs from there that have lasted me 15 years and are still going strong) and candles and vases and just everything you could possibly need. On our last trip, they all seemed to have turned into cafes, and I was sad.
