I was alone in a mental ravine
You breathe life when you break the walls down
You breathe life when you set me free
Kyrie Eleison
He had been drifting for a while now. Somewhere... well he wasn't really sure where he was. There was nothing here. For that matter, he wasn't sure who he was. He couldn't really remember.
Vague voices drifted in on occasion.
I wish it wasn't me here. You ought to have someone who knows you here right now. Not me."
Who? He knew that voice? But it's not quite right.
"About four days ago he started showing signs of muscle weakness. Three days ago he couldn't walk at all. By last night he couldn't move his arms or legs. Throughout he was showing signs of severe fatigue, until last night he collapsed. His heart rate was all over the place and I had to shock him to get it back into rhythm. He's been unconscious ever since."
Who are they talking about? Somebody in trouble. He should get out of here, find out what's going on. Why can't he get up? A little help here? Where the hell was he?
"Any way research can be done into exactly what symptoms his mother showed to get her classified as 'insane'?"
Huh? Mother, insane? Wait... that happened didn't it?
Tell them, tell them you see them too. Don't let them take me.
Mom? His mom? What the hell is happening?
"Dr. Venkman?
He knew that name, didn't he? Wait, they're not talking about him are they?
Oh God, that's me. I'm Peter. Peter Charles Venkman.
I'm dying...
No, this couldn't be right. He still had things to do. He couldn't be just here in the void waiting for HER to show up. No way. He had friends, family back home.
But I'm not there, I'm here at the end of the universe. Shit. Ray isn't even here. He's stuck in another warped alternate universe again. There were no ties to home at all now.
One of his deepest fears was being abandoned, of dying alone.
And now it was happening.

Kyrie Eleison
This can't be happening.
Where is my head where are my bones
Why are my days so far from home
Please God, don't let me die alone. Not here. Please...I'm sorry for everything. Just give me one more chance.
Light, light everywhere suddenly. Something.
Whoa... no, no going toward the light! Dammit, this is not it! I'm not going to the other side! Not yet.
It was getting brighter anyway. And he thought he heard an incessant noise from somewhere.
Beeeeeeeeep................
