It's not the same old D&D

Well, the first round of eBay has ended. The final total is a wopping $240. Most of this is thanks to my Creatures of the Wyld book going for $117. I'm now on a feverish hunt, looking for this hard to find book at any store I can for more sales.

Ran Eberron last Sunday for Boomer and GilmoreKnight. I had fun, but not the kind of fun I like to have roleplaying. The adventure (and it really was more of an adventure than a story) was out of the book, and promised to reveal a number of elements of the setting. What it really did was give a flimsy excuse to crawl into a 3/4 baked dungeon. Even after adding some actual "story" elements to the game it still was fairly stale. Part of this I blame on the adventure. The other part I noticed was that there really wasn't much character to go around, from me or the players. I think too much time went into the "what" of who everyone was and not the "who". I've found that the "one-shot" model of gaming is the only way I'll get to play with everyone's schedule so hard to manage, but it's hard to have a game where you can invest yourself into a character or story that way. It's made me re-evaluate what kind of stories I want to tell.

Here's a meme to end with
