This morning went pretty much the same as yesterday; Registration, where I packed con packs & lugged boxen.
So many boxen.
The bags they're using are, for some reason, from a Halloween store, so the vast numbers of pre-prepared con packs look like an explosion in a trick-or-treat factory.
Did three hours, which I think, when combined with the double-time bonus for pre-con work, means I've hit the 25 hour mark already. I'm hazy on what happens now; There may be a t-shirt, or maybe some sort of con-badge rebate.
There was an entertaining panel on Dyson Spheres, which wandered off at times into Kardashev Classifications & the like, and was a lot of fun.
Likewise a panel on the parts of Victorian Steampunk we don't mention so often, such as Imperialism, Classist & Racist behaviours, was a goodun.
Tried to go to a thing on Edgar Rice Burroughs, but it was standing room only, so I went to a panel on Exoplanets instead, which was, I think, probably more entertaining.
After that was Quantum Quest, an educational SF film where Neil Armstrong did one of the voices. It was an OK film for what was, apparently, the 50 minute version of a 90 minute script. The presenter/filmmaker was amazingly annoying. Oscillates between It's All About ME! and Let's Hold An Enforced Wake For Neil, and then it got worse.
I've already cluttered up Facebook with my commentary on that, so I'll stop now.
Currently I'm at an Indian restaurant named Khyber Pass, waiting on dinner.
----------
OK, dinner was good. Urp.
(I had tried to get Chicago Deep Dish pizza, but the throngs of people outside rather put me off)
Last event of the day was Mike Resnick's very funny GOH speech.
'"What can I give you for Christmas", said the Satanist to the Atheist Jew' is probably the high point, taking about a call from Anton LaVey.
Given that it's coming on for 10:30pm, time for some sleep.
