Aloha,
I'm gonna go to Melbourne from september 7-11, cos Jacob's band is playing some gigs down there and i've got some mates i want to visit. Any of my friends are welcome to come with though i haven't decided how i'm gonna get there yet.
I hate Frank Sinatra, he was thug and anyone who says that he or any of his cohorts was the "coolest person ever" is not only incorrect but unimaginative aswell. When he came to Australia he called a member of the local press a "buck and half hooker". Unfortunately for Sinatra, she happened to be a union member and the unions at that time was lead by the man who would later become Australia's greatest Prime Minister, Bob Hawke. Hawke organised a massive union boycott of Sinatra's tour. This meant that not only were the facilities cut off to his hotel room, but his plane would not be refuelled. He was virtually held prisoner until he met with Hawke and agreed to apologise for his comments.
I love the fact that Sinatra came to australia and thought he could throw his weight around the way he did at home, and was subsequently slapped back into line.
I love the fact that Bob hawke once entered the guiness book of records for the fastest Yard Glass.
I think that Sinatra saga was made into a movie but i don't know what it's called.
