Aloha,

Last night I decided I might take a bit of a stroll through old Soho on my way home. I noticed that it was strangely busy for a sunday night, then i rounded a corner to see a huge crown all dancing to Salt N Pepa's 'push it'. There was a stage at the front of the crowd, but from my vantage point way at the back it was hard to make out the performers. I could just see two girls singing and dancing to the song, to the adoration of the audience. But there was something funny about these girls. I took me a moment to realise: They were men!
Oh well, thought I, i'm open minded. So I enjoyed the perfromance for another couple of minutes. Shortly I said to myself 'Man, there's not many chicks here'. Then a man in his 60's walked past me in Speedos. Then I read a massive rainbow sign high above me. SOHO PRIDE FESTIVAL.
Oh crap! I had walked right into the middle of one of London's biggest gay pride events.
Now, I'm all for gay pride and gay rights, but this came as quite a shock. I figured the most sensible thing for me to do would be make a quick exit. If only I'd known how hard that would be, I might have stayed for the festivities. As soon as I'd made my way a few metres through the gigantic crowd, i was grabbed by a very upset young man. 'What'd he have to do that for?!' he shouted before walking off. Next i was squeezed between a pair of fat guys. Then i tripped over a box with a label that read '50 fireman's helmets'. But there's no fire station around here, i thought, ohhhh rigght. Everywhere i went I was confronted by barechested men of all ages and body types. There was good fashion sense as far as the eye could see. Just as I reached the end of the street, a skinny bloke with a cheeky grin came up to me. 'Pink or blue?' he said. I wasn't sure what he meant, so i went with what i thought was the safest option, 'Uhh..blue?'
'Wrong!' he laughed and whacked a sparkly pink cowboy hat on my head and walked off. 'Thanks!' I called out at him as i made my way back out of Soho and got a curry.

Peach out
