FC: To-Do

Jan 16, 2009 09:44

So, in less than a week, i will be cruising the mean streets of The San Jose Doubletree, attending Further Confusion!
Pretty spiffy.

I'll be leaving super early on thursday morning, scheduled to arrive at the con at around 1pm that same day.
Let's see... what do i still need to do?

-Sign up for AC art-show panels (wrong con, but that's something i need to get prepared for... for once, i am going to prepare ahead of time, and have a decent showing in the artshow this summer.)
-Finish the dragon i'm drawing, and contact Kiteless about stuff for the dragon panel. If it's not too late, try to colour them. (hah, that's unlikely...)
-Spray fixative on my stack of newer art and put it away.
-Decide if i want to bring any originals to sell, and whether i want to mat them or be a ghettocorn cheapass. Consider alternative display methods, including easel.
-Organize prints and binders.
-Visit print shop (not kinkos hopefully!) and print a few things, as well as a couple ref-sheets to laminate.
-Decide if it's worthwhile to bring my laptop and scanner.
-Manage my awful and unruly hair! + make it pink.
-Book return flight.
-Make sure all's a go with Lindz for ride, talk to dad about times.
-If i don't get anything in the mail, call California BoE about stupid tax shit again.
-Do laundry if needed, and pack.

...

This will be the first con ever without a new badge (well, aside from my first AC, but that doesn't count as i had no idea what to expect, and for the life of me could not grok the concept of badges!) I never got around to making one... oh well. The one from furfright is awesome, and can be reduced, reused, and recycled.
When i was at FC in 2007 i was limping the whole time... i never figured out why, it was inexplicable, came and went with no apparent cause... but my big toe on my right foot hurt too much to walk on. I still got around, but yeah... i was a gimpy con-goer. This year i look forward to walking comfortably!

... ... ... ...oh wait, this time i have no shoes. Damn. :(

Shoes are a big issue with me. I'll tell you about that sometime, it's quite the tale of tragedy and sole-rending despair.

-Addendum: Buy new shoes. REAL shoes. I know you simply can't justify spending money on shoes, but YOU'LL BE SORRY if you don't. GAAAAWD.
Not so much for the con, but for hiking in arizona afterward... soleless shells of shoes will not cut it out in the desert!
Buy some goddamn shoes you cheapass.

Wait, maybe if i duct-tape my shoes back together the tape will hold out for two weeks. That'll be just enough to get me through...
