Made obsolete by technology

There should be a list of plot problems that don't happen any more because of modern technology. This would help older writers of SF tremendously. At least then the writer would have to explain why that wouldn't work. The list could be general or specific:

Romeo and Juliet If Friar Lawrence had a cellphone, he'd just text Romeo that it's all a trick. (Don't use Juliet's phone, her dad has it.)
The missing information A smartphone has web access. Unless the phone is dead, there's no access for that service, or the user has a data cap, Google might well provide the answer. (Of course, the user might choose to believe the wrong stuff, like "pork & cola = worms.")

Orie there already a reading site that skewers these sorts of things?
