She lay cuddled up naked with Laura, both of them thoroughly satiated. One of her hands rests lightly on Laura's breast, the other is tangled up in her beautiful strawberry blonde hair

"I like your hair." Laura mumbled into her skin as she kissed along her collarbone. "Mmmhmmm they usually are a handful" She replied her hands pulling her botanist close.

"Yeah, they are." She agrees, capturing Laura's mouth in a deep kiss. "I don't suppose you've thought any more of it. Children - that is. What you think."

Laura broke her kiss and blinked at her. "I don't know Katie. It's too dangerous here."

"Yeah. Absolutely. You're right of course." She leans in to kiss her again, jilted at the sudden cut-off. "I didn't mean now anyway. Just hypothetically, some time in the future."

Laura sighed and lifted her head "Katie...why does this mean so much to you?"

"I don't know. Just the more I think about it, the more it seems like a good idea. Must be something about being an only child, I guess. It's a moot point anyway, at least whilst I'm still on Atlantis. It would just be nice to have a little support."

Laura sighed softly running her hands down Katie's back. "I just really don't know anything about kids.

"No, you're right. I don't either really. But I wonder how many parents have instruction manuals." Her tone is far more bitter than is usual for the easy-going botanist.

"I'm tired." She says suddenly, yawning wearily. Turning around to face the wall, she pulls the covers tighter around her and closes her eyes.

Laura blinked, "Katie..." She whispered softly stroking the back of her hair.

"I'm fine." She whispers back, her voice having trouble getting out of her constricted throat. She moves further away from Laura's gentle touch. It making her much more emotional than she wanted to be.

Laura blinked and sighed pulling her hand away sitting up in bed and watching her sadly.

Even with her eyes closed, she can feel that she's upset Laura. "Really, I'm fine." She says with more feeling. "I don't even know what brought it up. Seriously, go to sleep."

Laura sighed and lay down on her side watching the botanist's back with a soft frown.

Again, she could feel her girlfriend's concerned look boring into her, but she stays quiet. Focusing desperately on trying to get to sleep despite the fact that it's the last thing she wants. After what feels like several long hours, she finally succumbs to it.

Laura sighed seeing her relax and her breathing even out slowly> SHe sighed and lay on her back staring up at the ceiling.
