David's not been in the lab recently, she knows that he's working on some project with Rae. Several times she's wanted to search him out but was worried she wouldn't know what to say. If it had been Laura...nothing anyone would say would have made a difference. At least he still has Major Lorne. She doesn't want to use up any time they could be

Saera shrugged. "I don't really know too many people yet, but there is...well, I told David we were dating, but it's really...not quite...we just sorta hang out a lot, and sometimes there's kissing," she said. "And no, I never could pull the innocent look with David, he always knows what I'm up to."

She glanced over and spoke to Laura. "Hey, you want me to start dragging out embarrassing college stories about Katie?"

Laura grinned glancing at Katie. "Sure." She replied with a laugh.

"Kissing?" Katie asked, her interest piqued, "so do we get a name...or are you gonna make me guess?"

Katie just glared at Saera whilst hitting Laura across the arm. "Careful, both of you." She stared at them both in turn. "Saera, I have just as many embarrasing stories about you...well maybe not as many, but a fair number. I could have lots of fun sharing them with random people around the city. And Laura honey, I can cut you off!"

Saera laughed and ducked her head. "Ronon. Which makes me really not sure where we stand in terms of relationship - you think navigating all that dating stuff on Earth is bad, try it with someone you have no cultural common ground with whatsoever."

She opened her mouth, then closed it again. "Fine. You win. I've only got funny-embarrassing stories about you, you've got blackmail-quality on me. No way I'm taking those odds."

Laura stared at her in shock. "You'd cut me off?" She replied aghast

"Ronon!" Katie practically screeched. "Wow! Here I thought he had a thing for Teyla." Shaking her head, she tried to process the information. "But he's probably on Atlantis' most wanted list, how'd you manage to nab him?" She asked, almost awe-struck.

She turned to Laura, giving her a quick kiss which became deeper than she'd intended as Laura's mouth opened under hers. "Maybe I would." She replied breezily.

Saera shook her head in slight bewilderment. "I still have no idea...one minute we're bumping into each other in the hallway, the next he asks me to lunch, then invites me to go running with him and Sheppard and kisses me after..."

She laughed at Katie's threat to Laura. "If you'd follow through on that threat, I'm gonna go look for the aliens that're controlling you. Which...actually isn't such an impossible idea, out here."

Laura sighed as the kiss broke, "Not fair." She murmured dsliding her arm around Katie's waist.

"Wow, I wish I had it that easy with guys. It always seemed so much more complicated with them. I suppose after being alone for so long he's probably more straight-forward. Anyway on to the important stuff, is he a good kisser?" She laughed, subtly moving in closer to Laura.

Saera laughed. "Yeah, well, he eats with his fingers, not much complicated there. And wow, yes, he is - almost as good as you."

She raised an eyebrow as Katie moved towards Laura. "You want me to leave you two alone together for a while?"

Lauraa raised her eyebrows and looked at Saera, "You've kissed her?"

Saera blushed. "Um...yeah...back in college...don't tell David please?"

"Almost as good as me, huh? Well I'm glad to see I'm still your gold standard." She joked, quite pleased with herself.

To Laura she replied. "God more than kissed. We had some good times. But yeah, it was quiet a while ago."

"More than kissed? What happened?" She asked

Saera laughed again. "Have you ever known her to just kiss someone and leave it at that? Or have you not known her that long? Yeah, we were sleeping together on and off for most of college - I'd go up to visit David on weekends sometime, she'd let me crash in her room...David was too innocent and oblivious for her to catch, so I guess she settled for me instead. Unless she was doing him too and just never told me, in which case, I still don't want to know."

"Oh." She replied "ok." She murmued. "glad you guys had fun."

Katie giggled. "Relax, I never did manage to convince Davey to bed." Her tone became slightly more serious. "But I wasn't settling. I know you don't think I have a very complicated selection process but I don't just jump into bed with anyone. I cared about all of them, on some level."

She smiled at Laura, placing a hand on her thigh. "I've settled down a lot more now. It's still fun though."
