And there I am analyzing his eq, determining it to not actually stack up that way - but too lazy to correct any of it.

Actually it does... assume he has Mage Armor... thats +4 deflection bonus. Bracers of Armor adds +8 Armor bonus, negating any need for other armor. Rings of Protection can add anywhere between a +1 and +5 Deflection bonus, ALL deflection bonus' stack, and a +4 and a +2 would but him at 28. Add an average hero dex mod of +2 and boom.... you have 30 ac... It would be expensive.... but lucky search checks could easily get those

but rings of protection bonuses don't stack. any "protection" only goes on once.. and actually, bracers of armor probably counts in that particular field. Its one of those rules that keeps mages from having 30 ac ;)

Just read up on it... ring of protections dont stack.... so I was wrong... my bad... Force Armor (mage and bracers) though DO stack

Ring of Protection +1 through +5
Bracers of Armor +8
Mage Armor +4
Amulet of Natural Armor (he said he had an amulet) +1 through +5
Dex Bonus +1 through +5

He could still have 30 AC depending on those other bonus'
