I think its a good thing

Ok, so i've learned some very important news this past drill (2 weeks ago).  This news is....that H&S Co. has been taken off the deployment for next year.  Although it is something of good news to hear that I won't be going over there, I was sort of torn when I heard.  Sure, now i get to transfer to a university next year and not fall another year behind.  But really, what's another year considering what I would be doing?  I was really only pissed at losing a year in Djibouti because no one cares about what happens there.  Hell, no one even knows about the shrimp sized country!  Also, not deploying means that i'll have more of a financial burden when I transfer, especially if I get into USC like I plan (crossing fingers).  My GI bill educational benefits will run out during my last year there and I surely won't be working (maybe i will...we'll see).  The deployment was going to pay off my car and credit cards to lift some of the stress of me so that I won't have to worry about paying it while I'm in school.  Plus, with Corporal pay, I'd have plenty of money left over in my savings to ensure that money won't be that tight so I may focus more on school.

Bummer.

So that's why I put my name on the list for volunteers if they end up needing bodies.
