2nd Deduction [Text]

Having experienced an Event first hand I feel more sure than ever now that neither Wonderland nor the Queen have anything to do with our presence here. Wonderland itself is most certainly responsible for events, however. I'd leave the possibility of sentience open.

Regardless--If you'd like, I have a fairly complete record of locations and years residents were taken from. The more minds working on this the better.

[Mark also has names, and a few personal profiles, but he's not going to share those with a stranger.]

Wonderland is not capable of having a motive or thought. It's reactionary at best and therefore not sentient.

I accept your records. You know the address.

[And soon enough Mark shows up at room 21 with several pages of data--typewritten on carbon paper.]

[..Sherlock is mildly entertained. He's gotten futuristic technology, stuff comparable to his own time, and now... well.]

These are copies or originals?

[Shh he's very set in his ways.]

Copies. It pays to keep backups of everything.

[Missing the point completely, here.]

It's organized by place of origin--where each person was when Wonderland took them. Alphabetically. There's a section at the end for residents who aren't from Earth.

[He points at each column-header in turn.]

Date of abduction. Date of arrival in Wonderland. Self-identified home-town.

Just down the hall, then. Excellent.

[He doesn't even seen the hand. His eyes are glued to the paper as he flips through it, wandering over to his desk.]

London, 2010. That should be all you require if you've been diligent.

[Mark stiffens a little and puts his hand back in his pocket.]

Thank you.

You mentioned a book?

Yes, a book written about myself as it happens. Or a version of me.

[He puts the papers down on the table and looks between it and the other means he's collected.]

[He's sticking around. Stubbornly.
As for the book, he simply assumes it's nonfiction.]

A biography?

I'm not certain. Once I receive a copy of it, I'll have a much better idea what I'm dealing with. Apparently it was written in the late 1800's but I wouldn't call Sir Arthur Conan Doyle the Nostradamus of his time.

[action] Are you familiar with The Great Game? The weird fan-thing, not the episode title. paper_knight July 22 2011, 16:38:47 UTC
Sir Arthur--

[Oh holy shit. Somehow Mark doesn't think he means The White Company.]

Doyle was a fiction author. Best known for the character of Sherlock Holmes.
