In follow up to this, I present a conversation between Bob and me on AIM (usernames omitted -- don't want any stalkers! ;) ).

Me: do you love me?
Bob: I'm not sure. I guess so.
Me: that's sweet
Bob: What is that, exactly?
Me: i never knew that you were so romantic
Bob: Don't be so sure you like you never knew that I was romantic.
Me: you've been holding out on me
Bob: Hmm... I don't know. I have holding out on you?
Me: are you still seeing that other girl?
Bob: No.
Me: am i the only girl in your life?
Bob: Yeah, you're the only girl in my life.
Me: that makes me so happy
Bob: That makes you so happy, huh?
Me: yep!
Bob: Oh.
Me: so....
Bob: Yeah, so?
Me: are you doing anything tonight?
Bob: I don't think I am doing anything tonight.
Me: want to do something?
Bob: Hmmm... I'm not sure.
Me: when will you know?
Bob: You tell me.
Me: stop being difficult
Bob: Stop being what?
Me: difficult!
Bob: What's difficult?
Me: you're impossible
Bob: No way! I'm impossible, huh?
Me: sure are!
Bob: What? Are?
Me: who? where?
Bob: Good question. What do you think is the answer?
Me: you want to do something tonight?
Bob: Maybe, maybe not, you know what I mean?
Me: i don't even know anymore
Bob: I'm intrigued that you think you don't even know anymore.

And it goes on from there.
