Labor Day

Aaaah... labor day.

There is nothing like celebrating working by not working.
While celebrating I asked the gathering of people if anyone knew how Labor Day began and when. No one knew, including myself. My dad turns to me and says, "You'd say, 'Just look it up on the internet!'"

And thats why I need an Iphone! hehe, but not really cause I don't waste money like that :P

when I got home, though, I "wikied" it...

"The holiday began in 1882, originating from a desire by the Central Labor Union to create a day off for the "working man". It is still celebrated mainly as a day of rest and marks the symbolic end of summer for many. Labor Day became a federal holiday by Act of Congress in 1894."

Thank you Congress of yesteryear!

and with that I'll leave you with a video-thought.

"be thankful you have clean water!"
