L is having a rough week: emo-raito, his suspect, has vanished completely, and justiceishot, who he considers a friend, seems to be losing his mind. So, this particular L has been wandering the hallways of the mansion more than usual, trying to find something he can do to stop what has been happening

*He walks into the room with an expression on his face that suggests that he sees the kitchen as nothing short of miraculous, and begins to fix himself a cup of tea.*

*He smiles when he sees her, sets his tea down on one of the tables for two, and holds his hand out as an invitation for her to join him.*

How have you been today?... *gestures around the room*... Can you believe it?

*He looks much more cheerful than he had before he noticed the open doors.*

I've been good, thank you. How about you?
::looks around:: It's wonderful! I can't wait to... oh my gosh, they have my favorite brownies!! ::points to a large platter overflowing with thick brownies, a layer of peanut butter on top and a thick layer of soft chocolate on the top:: ^_____^

*Mel finally has her own body back, and is craving chocolate with a fierceness. Though she's suspicious of unfamiliar rooms, this one is too much to resist, and she zeroes in on the giant chocolate cake right away.*

*He smiles and nods in acknowledgment when he says his name, but does not hold out his hand to shake. In a general sense, he looks a little bit bouncy and excited. Cake!*

It's... don't mind me if I drool; I've been someone else.

*glances over and smiles, curious about the name but Distracted* Hi. I'm Mel. Do you think this stuff is safe to eat?

::laughs picking up a rather large brownie:: Well, then I say we better eat it first before it gets the chance. ::takes a big bite:: Mmm, oh man this is so good...

Probably, but how is that different from any other day here?

(They're in a crazy interdimensional mansion. Shit happens. L will just help himself to a piece of cake in the mean time, and offer Mello a smile.)

Holy... holy shiiiiieeeet.

(Gets a sort of... *_* look at all the sweets, and then almost squeals like a little girl at the sight of the coffee)

Fuck yes, I need sum coffee! I haven't had coffeee in foreeeeevveerrr!

(Rushes the coffee, completely ignoring everyone else)

...Pssshawww, kid, yer goin' straight fer tha cake.
Dun't judge meh.

(Sticks out his tongue and gulps down the coffee, ignoring the steaming hotness of it, and grins)

Ahhhhh.... coffee.
Muy bueno.

(At the moment of walking in, he feels his mouth begin to water. The scents that he had smelled from outside were what drew him there. Noticing a strawberry cake, he cuts off a piece and begins to eat)

(Hasn't eaten for quite a few days ; has been staying to the hallways and has only entered this room due to being VERY hungry. So, any sort of manners he would have had are now gone as he shovels cake into his mouth. When hearing the Mello's comment, he pauses in his eating and wipes some of the cake off his mouth)

Well, whatever does that mean? You seem to like cake as well.

(Takes another bite off his own cake)
