Mello walked down the long hallway, counting the green bills that had been crushed into his hand when all was said and done. His blonde, sweaty locks hung over his paled face and he growled in dissatisfaction when he realized that the amount was less than he'd been expecting. "Matt?" he asked immediately, though this Matt looked strangely different from his own-- more innocent almost? "What are you doing here?"

I've been living here a while. This is some mansion that sits outside the normal perception of time. It pulls all kinds of versions of different people from all different worlds and times and fucks with them here. "I've been in more dangerous situations," he quipped grimly, "I'm sure I can handle it."

"Do you have a room here?" he asked, "Or could you at least show me to a shower?"

Oh, that was Mel. She's pretty cool.
Mine, though? He can be a real prat, and he gets jealous kinda easy. That's why we're heading left- [Which is what he does; Matt hits the stairs directly to their left instead of leading Mello down the hallway to the right, which would take them to his current room.] -instead of going right. My old room's this way.

"Jealous," he snorted, "I used to get jealous of the girls my Matt brought around but I quit eventually. It gets tiring."
He glared away, clenching his fists a bit. Clearly, he was still jealous.

I'm sure it does, but that doesn't stop him.
...or you, it would seem.

He stopped himself, thinking about what he could say. He couldn't figure out exactly what he wanted to say, so he just shut his mouth.
"Ugh. Nevermind."
