*Light freezes, deciding from the second that he hears himself addressed in that manner that yes, he has indeed fallen asleep somehow. But for a dream, this is overly vivid and secondly, he shouldn't be fully aware that he is dreaming.

He hasn't heard this voice in a very. long. time. Not while conscious, at least.*

I've told you to stop. You've no place in the world, let alone my dream.

*His eyes narrow; a haughty expression overtaking his features as he keeps his attention on the wall across from him. If he doesn't look at L, he'll go away. This is how it usually works.*

*He speaks quietly, holding his ground. No matter how close L gets, Light isn't going to step away. He's never been able to touch him, no matter what tactic he employed in order to make Light's sleeping life a living hell.*

Am I supposed to justify that with a response?

*As far as the "Kira Case" goes, yes. It's over. The investigation has been over for a very long time, now. It takes almost no determination at all to keep the wall as his only focus. He and L have played this game many times, after Light closes his eyes and sinks into unconsciousness. It used to be constant. Not so much any more, which is why he's more annoyed than unnerved, at the moment.*

You know better.

*Most of the time, at least. It's entirely possible that Light's dreams have reverted to what they were in the beginning; with L being absolutely clueless as to the current state of things. But since then, they have built upon each other, to the point where he no longer has to rub it in L's face that he has won. It's an unspoken fact between the two of them.*

*Ah, so they are doing this again. Alright.*

*He's not going to engage. The more he does, the longer the conversation goes on. Light supposes that if he were dead, he would have massive amounts of time on his hands, as well.*

Pity.

*Annoyance begins to rise in Light's chest and he shifts, still not sparing L a glance. It usually only takes a short amount of time for him to show absolutely no interest before L ceases conversation. Sometimes Light wakes shortly after, and sometimes, they only stay like that: in a limbo of sorts, with neither speaking.

Hopefully, the former will be the case, this time.*
