He's been looking for a particular room. The mansion, for once, seems to have taken pity on him -- a large area full of stores. It looks a lot like the one back home, so he has a good idea of where he's going.

Shrugging, he casually walks off to take a look.

She can't really remember the last time she was this happy- yes, she can, but it doesn't matter- so she's willing to take a few chances with rooms. Pushing the door open, she takes a few cautious steps in- so far, so good. A mall?

[brokendetective]

He looks over his shoulder at the arrival, smiling just a little.

"Check it out, I'm a dude this time."

[without_fanfare]

"Oh, how nice."
She smiles, taking a few steps in his direction. It is thankfully getting to the point where she can tell him apart from all of the other Mellos that look like him- she's a bit ashamed that it took this long, but still.

[brokendetective]

"How've you been since... last time?" He feels the need to ask, to make sure everything's good before jumping to any conclusions and making an idiot out of himself -- of which had been happening a lot lately.

[without_fanfare]

"Good. Really good." She takes a quick moment to look around, see all of the shops. There's a few people wandering around- how scary would it be if they were the only ones here. "And you?"

[brokendetective]

"Better than usual."

[without_fanfare]

"... because?"

[brokendetective]

"Just because."

[without_fanfare]

"No special reason?"
She's teasing, but takes a few careful steps away to look closer at the shops.
"Anything you need?"

[brokendetective]

"I was thinking chocolate first, and then there's something we both need."

[without_fanfare]

"Oh?"
She turns back, faking confusion.

[brokendetective]

"Mm, very convincing." He sighs, giving her an unimpressed expression before turning to look for said chocolate.

[without_fanfare]

"... well, excuse me if my acting skills aren't up to par."

[brokendetective]

"From an ex-CIA agent, as well. I'm shocked, I really am."

There's a small store in the corner; he turns back, briefly. "Coming with or standing around?"

[without_fanfare]

She laughs, starting after him.
"Come with, of course."

[brokendetective]

Straight to the candy section, and he's faced with one of life's hardest choices: picking one chocolate bar. "So, this place is just like the one back home --" he gestures to the mall; granted, they hadn't been in Japan that long, but long enough, "any place in particular you want to visit?"
