Global Thermonuclear War? Hmm. How about a nice game of chess?

A had been a bit adamant about leaving the confines of his room and actually wandering out into the expanse of the mansion, but sitting around reading all day wasn’t doing much for him anymore. His brain was craving visual information and creative problems to solve. His small break in the mansion hadn’t dulled his dedication to being L’s successor, if anything he had never felt more confident in himself.

But an egotistical A was not necessarily a good thing. It was during these short bursts of self confidence that it seemed he ended up getting himself into the most trouble. His body could never back up the trouble that his tongue seemed to be able to get him into, and because of this he often found himself at the receiving end of many bad physical altercations.

But he was not interested in any sort of roughhousing or otherwise strenuous activity today. So he was quite happy to come across a room with an elaborate glass chessboard set up alongside a table filled with tea and other pastries. He smiled as he ran a finger along the edge of the board. How long had it been since he had played a game?

He tried to ignore the fact that it seemed the Mansion had given him exactly what he’d been craving. It didn’t appear to be that kind, and in A’s experience no good deed ever went unpunished.

Pouring himself a cup of tea, he sat down on the white side of the board (he who strikes first wins) and slid a pawn from E2 to E4. If no one joined him soon, he could always just play himself, after all. At least this would be more mental stimulation than staring at another page filled with text.

(( OOC - Revisit of The Chess Room/Kitchen. Feel free to sit down and play/bug our favorite fallen successor or just eat the free food. Fair warning: A has never lost a game before, and doesn’t plan on losing one now. :) Also, if I made any mistakes, please let me know; this is my first time starting a thread. Gratzie. ))
