Linda has avoided all of the stranger and more damaging rooms in the two weeks since she arrived here through a mixture of caution and extreme luck. But her luck has run out. When she goes looking for the kitchen- well, we all know what happens.
*L is also looking for the kitchen -- as usual -- but the sinking feeling he experiences when he recognizes where he is instead is not primarily disappointment at being directed away from his planned snack. The last time he found himself here, he had a vicious fight with Yagami and wound up injured.*
*He looks around the room, seeing Linda, and realizes that he is furious with her; his anger is irrational and total.*
You have been here long enough that you should not need to ask stupid questions -- but I suppose I should not expect any better.
At the sight of Ryuuzaki, Linda’s eyes go flat and her shoulders slump. Oh. him. She remembers talking to him when she arrived, but can’t recall feeling so… irritated by his presence. She picks up things about him that annoy her, though they hadn’t before. His hair, his eyes, the way he talks… And they make her feel like she could explode with anger. Never before has Linda felt such all-consuming rage.
His words hurt her- those against her usually do. But instead of fleeing like she usually would, she bristles like a porcupine and snaps,
*and he does, letting the words out at a slow pace, as if explaining something to a person of limited cognitive ability -- *
-- that even you have been here long enough to know that the kitchen is replaced, on occasion, with other rooms, but you are stupid enough that there is some probability that you might not have grasped it.
Do you need me to explain it to you a third time?
*Even he is rarely this cold, or this explicitly insulting.*
