Poetry and flowers, pretty words and threats
*Mel's looking for the wish room, but apparently the mansion thinks she's used it too much lately, because when she steps through the door that led to it last time, she's almost hit in the face with a balloon.
Dozens of them bump against the ceiling, red, pink, and white, and there are tables full of sweets: cakes, chocolates, hundreds of candy message hearts. Mel picks up one that says ANY MATT WILL DO!. She drops it, but the next isn't any better; it says FORGET ME NOT. She mutters "Really fuckin' cute," and fervently wishes she carried a hammer.
The giant Hershey's kisses and the cakes are presumably for longer demoralizing messages. The banner-sized paper sticking out of one of the kisses ends with INCAPABLE OF IT. The cake closest to Mel is decorated with a rainbow of frosting flowers, except for a space in the middle with a poem piped out:
ROSES ARE BLUE
VIOLETS ARE RED
IT'S SILLY TO FALL
IN LOVE WHEN YOU'RE DEAD
The cake beside that one is frosted in ocean blue; half a plastic boat sticks out of it, mid-sinking, and there are plastic people in the "water" in various stages of drowning. The frosting words on this one say:
BON VOYAGE!
GOOD LUCK CROSSING DIMENSIONS!
HA HA HA
Mel turns to leave, but of course, the door's gone.*
