Look through a faithless eye - are you afraid to die?
[Near can't explain exactly why he'd strayed from his kitchenward path and ventured into this hallway, even to himself, but he doesn't really have time to dwell on it - he now finds himself in front of a door with an X marking it. He knows what the Xs designate, of course, and yet, almost involuntarily, he reaches out, turns the knob on the door, pushes the door inward, and steps into the stark white room -
- And suddenly, Near is back at his headquarters, staring up at a wall of floor-to-ceiling monitors, clump of darts resting in one hand. He turns from the monitors, singles one dart out, and aims at the dart board, but he never has the chance to actually throw the dart. There's a sharp, seizing pain in his chest, and Near's eyes widen momentarily as he collapses to the floor.
Kira - It's the last word he's able to think before everything fades to black nothingness.]
