[Stepping through the door into what looks like it should be the kitchen - but isn't - Light turns around, bored, and taps on the hollow-sounding wall behind him where the door should be. It's almost routine, now. Dropping into one of the sofas, he picks up one of the grey pillows and sits it on his lap. He isn't sure why: it just seems like the thing to do.]
Very little. There isn't much to do here - though at present, the mansion is redirecting me once or twice a day. Mostly physical transformations now - the room where we were split into positive and negative, and a couple of rooms that associate me with spiders.
And hard work, yes. But also - many other things. You know how it is.
[He looks across at you: there's a problem he's been turning around in his head. Something he needs advice with badly.]
Ryuuzaki, we're friends. [And he says it as if he needs reminding of it: as if something about it is not, and never could be, right.] May I ask your opinion of something?
[Light returns the smile, and there's something odd to it: a flicker of confusion. Why am I discussing this with you? Why am I mentioning it to anyone? But it's quickly submerged in other things.]
If you wanted to get out of here - out of the mansion - how would you do it?

Hey, Light! How have you been?

[leaning back with a touch of a smile.]
Today's been quiet. At least until now.

This is an interesting room, isn't it? I have never seen it before.

[one finger tapping on the pillow]
Something is different, certainly, but I'd find it hard to say what.

I have been wanting to talk to you, but I will warn you -- if that woman Misa shows up, I am leaving.

[In fact, he finds himself thinking of his own Misa for a moment, the one he left behind.]
Do you need to talk about it?

*He looks thoughtful.*
I cannot stand her, but I am not sure why it would be a problem, except that she is omnipresent most of the time.
Don't worry, though -- if there were anything to discuss, you are the first person I would come to.

[It's polished and polite - and starkly honest.]
What did you want to discuss with me?

*He brings his right hand to his mouth, the tip of his thumb between his teeth, and lets it make a slow, side-to-side glide between the two rows.*

[He looks tired, suddenly.]
All very tedious.

In some cultures, spiders are associated with cleverness and creativity.

*He smiles, warm and genuine, something rarely seen by most people, even in the mansion.*
Of course. I will help if I can.

*He looks delighted to be of help to Light.*
You find the Assistant. She is a lovely woman -- kind, fair-minded, and easy to talk to. Describe your problem, and she will give you what you want.
*His delight fades to a frown.*
You are dead, though, Light. I would hate to think of you being sent to your own world only to find yourself cremated.
