*Teru thought this was the Flight Room. He even heard the giant fan whirring inside. But when he enters - suddenly there are two of him, apparently identical. One of them turns and looks apprehensively at the other, who rolls his eyes.*
Yes, we still look the same. I thought we were over the whole 'what if I'm secretly evil' thing?
...sorry. I'm

And today is no exception: he pauses in front of the door, and he can see the kitchen in there - but as soon as he steps inside, it's gone. There's a quick shiver that ripples right down through him, along his spine, as if he's being separated out from himself like tangled wool - and then two of him are standing there.]
Well, that was easier than last time.
[He's tidy enough, somewhat diffident. And - it's as if he'd been lost, dragged down into a vat of syrup, choking and blinding, only to find that he's stepped out of it and been born over. Memories and experiences, in the background: he prods at the uppermost ones - some of which are really quite horrifying - but it's as if ( ... )

[shaking his head, he puts a hand on his other-half's shoulder, which earns him a glare and an annoyed noise.] Ignore him, he's tetchy.

[He knows his twin is hovering behind him, dog-in-the-manger-like - but he can't resist speaking.]
Well, you two are cute, aren't you. Don't get along with yourself?
[He really can't stand it, and tucks his face down into his collar in a scowl: you've got no right to speak to them after what we did.]

[for his part, Light is just watching the silent half of his double with a little frown.]

there's a dizzying pain, and everything goes white and it's like he's dissolving and he almost screams.]
[and then the world reassembles itself, and he is - not as he was. he's looking over at his mirror image, except this isn't just one of his doubles, this is his - other half. Light's lip curls a bit, and he sighs. his expression is guarded, suspicious, cold.]
Well, isn't this charming.
[this Light spends a few moments looking bemused, flexing his hands and - well, getting used to it. then he looks up - he, by contrast, seems quite calm, even mildly cheerful.] It's rather interesting.

So in your world am I in the band? It'd be cool if -
Teru, not now. I'm making sure he's okay.

Suddenly, there were two. On the right there was a dirt-covered, scrawny version of himself. Not quite the way he looked when he first arrived; it was the image of himself that he imagined when he had no choice but to think of his situation. "We’re going to die," he said in a gruff, dry, voice. It was chilling to hear, leaving a terrible sound ringing in the air. "This respite won’t last forever."
"We won’t," said a voice from the left. In contrast to the one on the ground, this one was standing with his arms and feet bound. He was clean and full, still white and pure ( ... )

Jesus, man He's probably... do you need help? With the stuff on your wrists?

"Do they never get tired of doing this? I just got done being Mello - they could have like, waited."
"It's not that bad, you know." He shrugs.
Nate wonders if he's hearing correctly. Isn't this supposed to be himself?

You get to stop being so uptight.
I'm not uptight.
Yes you are. ...'s okay, though. That's what you're for.

*Once again, the two Matts are visibly different. The first has no vest, no goggles, and is still smoking. The other...*
Hey. *He's quieter, features hidden behind the goggles and high collar.* We gave those up.

Don't nag him, he's helping us. *Other Teru smiles, turning to the Matts* Thank you. I mean it.
Yes. We're very grateful to you.

That's alright, Teru. *So says the quieter Matt, while the other gives him an amused look.*
You got a pretty shit lot in life. Fair's fair, right? And you're less likely to grow up crazy this way.
Was that really necessary, Matt?

But you don't need to swear.
