The most curious thing about a Cheshire cat is his grin. This was a characteristic that lasted throughout any reincarnation of the beast; after all, a Cheshire cat would always be a Cheshire cat. Although the only cat-like features on this one were his ears, the tail, and his tiny claws, it did nothing to deter the fact that he was still, in a sense, a cat. No one had ever tried to dispute the fact, except for one. But that argument was short-lived.

This cat was sitting on the top of a door that opened outwards. (As everyone knows, felines tend to enjoy high places. It makes them feel rather grand.) With one leg curled up against his chest, he watched the people passing in the hallway with wide eyes and a large grin.
