emo_raito has been moping around the mansion most of the week - he's not taking the breakup with commeo particularly well. he's wandering aimlessly through the hallways today, and he shuffles into an unfamiliar room without actually realizing it. it's a bar - a different bar than any that have already been seen around the mansion - mostly dark, fairly average

[by this point, Light has become pretty resigned to not finding the right room, so he just sighs and rolls his eyes when the door opens to an unfamiliar bar instead of the winter room. when he finds himself walking up to the stage of his own volition, he just folds his arms, looking distinctly unimpressed. when he halts in front of the microphone and the music starts to play, he sticks his hands in his pockets; but when he starts to sing, he drops the irked/resigned attitude a little bit. he's a good, seasoned performer, and of course he's going to utilize that in favour of embarrassing himself by letting his lack of general enthusiasm show.

when the song finishes, he hops off the stage and heads over to emo_raito, shaking his head.] Just so long as the plan doesn't involve killer notebooks, I guess.

[emo_raito]

*light applauds*

hey, other me! that was pretty cool!

*and then he suddenly looks confused*

killer notebooks? huh? what do you mean?

[reprism]

Thanks.

[pause.] Uh. [taking a seat next to him.] Injoke. It's a... difficult to explain.

So.

... you okay? [looking over carefully.]

[emo_raito]

*light plasters a smile on his face. if it seems forced, that's because it is.*

sure. great. why wouldn't i be?

how 'bout you? anything new and exciting?

[reprism]

My Mello died.

[emo_raito]

in one of the rooms? good, maybe that'll make him think twice about punching people in th-

[reprism]

[interrupting, flatly.] Thinking twice about punching people isn't an option for him any more. He choked to death, and he's not coming back.

[firm_detective]

*He stifled a chuckle, earlier, at the comment about "killer notebooks," but has been silent since then. Now he feels compelled to interrupt.*

The one who fought with Mihael a while ago?

[emo_raito]

ohm- seriously?

*his jaw drops open*

shit. wow. i'm sorry. what happened?

[reprism]

[glancing over at L.] Yeah. The Mello from my world whom everyone hated. [lilting, sarcastic.] He drank himself to death, pretty much. Threw up in his sleep. Choked. I'd say he was dead in his room for a day or two before I found him. [hands clasped.]

[firm_detective]

*He fixes reprism with a stare that might incorporate a hint of sympathy.*

I wish you would have found me. I could have examined him, maybe -- but what had happened was obvious?

[emo_raito]

shit, other me. that sucks. i mean, he was kind of an asshole, but still - that's a pretty harsh way to go. yikes.

and you found him like that? eek.

[reprism]

I don't even know where your room is. [to L.] And yeah. It was obvious when I found him he'd already been dead for... a while. And what had happened was self-evident. There was nothing to do. Noth... [breaking off, clenching his jaw.] Yeah. It's been... a few days now.

[firm_detective]

*He nods, once.*

That's unfortunate. Did he always drink so much?

... For future reference, I'm in the kitchen several times on any given day.

wow. hey. other me. *chewing his bottom lip a little* i'm sorry. that's terrible.

you're sure it wasn't someone here, though? i mean, he had enemies, right? there've been murders here before. someone could've set it up to look like he did it himself.

[reprism]

I'm fine. [coldly.]

It definitely wasn't a murder. There would be no way for someone to fake that.
