Light has been keeping to herself lately, after a series of mildly traumatic room incidents, but she has grown rather bored with reading alone in her room, so she has decided to once again put her creative baking skills to use. She has been in the ground floor kitchen for several hours, and there are two cakes cooling on the counter - a Zesty

[Teru's finished the schoolwork he's set for himself, and is heading back to his new room. Or should be at least; somehow, since leaving the library, he's managed to completely lose track of where he is. He smells the fresh baking and heads towards it in the hope of finding someone who might help.]

Excuse me? I seem to have gotten a little lost...

Light looks up from her book at the sound of his voice. She gives him a polite smile.

Oh, hello. You're lost? Perhaps I can help you. Where were you headed?

[[Yes absolutely. Hee. &hearts]]

[He bows politely, 'recognising' her as she looks up.]

Thank you - Light-san? I've met some of your alternates, I think.

I'm trying to get to my own room, on the third floor. I was on the sixth a minute ago, I'm sure, but everything changed as I headed towards the staircase... [He notices her book and glances up.] May I ask what you're reading?

[light_the_lady]

Yes, that is correct. She stands up from the table and returns the bow. And you are ... Mikami-san, yes? I have also met one of your alternates. She is quite remarkable.

Third floor? You're on the ground floor now, I'm afraid ... this place does shift around without warning.

And certainly. I'm reading The Six Codes of Law. I found it in the library - I had begun reading it for a class at university, before I was brought here.

Sayu hadn't been having any luck finding people who had known her before her month-away-being-brainwashed, and after taking notes in her room all night, was giving it another shot since she really didn't have anything else to do.

She passes a kitchen, and sees one of the Lights. More specifically, a female Light.

Standing in the doorway, Sayu studies the person, then decides to say something.

Um...hello? Light...?

Light looks up from her book and smiles warmly at Sayu.

Sayu, I haven't seen you in quite a while. How have you been?

[omgwutsayu]

Um, yeah, well...I was...I was away for a bit with one of the Mellos, and...

Uh...this is going to sound really weird, but I don't really remember things anymore and I was told I knew a female Light and I guess that's you unless there's more than one girl Light here which there might well be since there's a whole lot of the same four or five people so sorry if you're the wrong one but I've been looking around for people who knew me since I can't find Methburn Mello or the whiny Light or the German whore Mihael and those are the only one I know for sure knew me because no one else I've seen since seems to have known me.

But...I keep seeing all these Lights that are assholes so if you're an asshole too can you please tell me first so I can leave before you do anything mean to me?

She laughs a little, softly, amused.

I've been called many things, including a bitch, but I don't believe I've been called an asshole before. And, to the best of my knowledge, I am the only Light here who is a girl, and I believe you're the only Sayu here, so I think it's safe to infer that we knew each other.

I am delighted to see you, Sayu. I was worried something unpleasant had befallen you. She frowns slightly. I certainly hope this Mello you were with was not unkind to you.

[ He's wandering, trying to find his way around. It's really hard to, though, since it's a big place. He finally finds this kitchen, and he wanders in hesitantly, gaze on the floor. ]

Uh... uhm...

[ It smells good in here, and he wants to comment on it, but he doesn't know the people here, so he stays quiet, lingering at the corner of the room. ]

She looks up from her book and sees him standing in the hallway. She gives him a small, polite smile.

Oh, hello. Are you lost?

[ He flinches when she speaks to him, and nervously looks at her, before his gaze snaps to the floor. ]

O-oh, no... well sort of.
Beyond is just new.

[light_the_lady]

She nods.

As were we all at one point. She continues smiling politely.

You're called Beyond? My name is Light. It's a pleasure to meet you.

[Satan Mello is wandering around curiously when he catches the scent of cake and moves forth to investigate. He can't help but grin when he sees a Light.]

I was beginning to wonder when I would run into you, Yagami.

[light_the_lady]

She looks up at him and forces a small, polite smile.

I'm sorry, I don't believe we've met.

We haven't, though I know the version of you from home quite well. [Says it as if they were the very best of friends.]

[light_the_lady]

Her polite smile holds.

I am afraid I can not make a similar claim.

[Light enters the kitchen and stops dead when he sees the other Light, and the cakes. he doesn't even muster the energy to raise an eyebrow, instead resuming his path to the refridgerator.] Did you bake those?

[for the record, he looks like death warmed over - his face is drawn and pale, posture uncharacteristically sloppy, eyes a little sunken and red-rimmed. and, of course, there's the bandage around his right hand.]

[light_the_lady]

She looks from her book and watches him intently for a moment before responding.

I did. I was bored. Would you care for some? They're not quite finished, but if you're in no hurry ...

Are you quite all right?

[reprism]

I'm not in a hurry but I'm not hungry either, so no thanks. [he takes out a glass from one of the cupboards, then fetches the bottle of cranberry juice from the fridge. one-handedly, and therefore rather awkwardly, he unscrews the top and pours himself a glass. after replacing the bottle he heads over to the table and takes a seat opposite the other Light.]

[at her question, he shoots her a darkly amused look.] Fine, obviously. Why on earth would you ask? [sigh.] Sorry, that was unnecessarily sarcastic.

[light_the_lady]

She closes her book, sets it down, and watches him curiously as he pours the juice and sits across the table. She smiles politely at his response.

It's quite all right; from the looks of it, you've been through quite an ordeal. I can't hold it against you for being short, then, can I? Was it one of the rooms?
