Well you're trendy insofar as the black-and-blue is now a minor trend among the Mellos thanks to you. But it's a horrible one.

I'm not saying it wasn't a good idea. Not saying it wasn't a bad idea, either, mind, but regardless, I had the same one. You just kind of wrecked it.

[sigh.] Honestly, it doesn't even matter. The point is the whole thing ended up brutal and pointless and I should have realized that was how it was going to end up from the very start and it was stupid of me. I should have realized that no matter how fed up I was with Mello and how entirely unable I was to reach him, I still shouldn't have resorted to violence - thinking that was the only language that might get through to him - because it never ends well.
