Love, I'd never hurt you. anonymous December 6 2009, 23:18:23 UTC
“Yagami Light... I understand, and I am willing to comply with whatever plan you may have in mind. What do you suggest the best course of action would be at this point?”

Near, I’ve anticipated your every move.

Light stood silently, letting his mind wander.

L... You thought I didn’t know... you thought I didn’t know, even back then, when you faked your own death... of course I knew that the notebooks had been switched. Misa remembered your name, bless her... and you thought I’d write it down after the fake notebook went missing. Of course. I took it home and hid it under my desk drawer before you could even realize its absence and set up surveillance in my bedroom... you all anticipated that I would have written his name down immediately after, and so you faked your own death. But I knew... and since surveillance showed no evidence of me using the fake notebook for some time, and killings continued, my suspicion was cleared. But the truth was that Misa had been using her own Death Note under my instructions while on tour... it was unwise for you to remove so much suspicion on her. Of course, given the situation, I couldn’t just kill you after all of this, since it would make it obvious that I knew of the farce. I played your game... I let Near be your pawn while you were in hiding. I knew that I would have to wait until you chose to see me again. And oh, finally, Ryuuzaki... finally, we will see each other again at last, because I remember your name, L Lawliet.

It was perfect. Light closed his eyes to visualize the text he’d instructed Mikami to write.

Nate River - January 28, 2010, 23:00. His nemesis reveals himself as “Kira.” After having heard Kira’s defense, his views are effectively swayed in Kira’s favor. Successfully convinces all those present that it is in their best interest to comply with Kira’s wishes, and thus, said parties will then sympathize with Kira’s ideals and abide by his wishes; no questions asked. Returns home that evening; commits suicide.

L Lawliet - Decapitation.

Light allowed himself to grin. It wasn’t necessary to kill the rest. In fact, it would be a waste. Why would he unnecessarily dispose of potential allies? Light only needed to control one person through the Death Note that day... other than Light, Near had the most power and intelligence out of all of them. They would listen to him, and it was the most logical choice. And if the Death Note could cause strong, life-loving people to take their own lives... it could certainly cause a simple change of heart.

And as for L... oh, it was a pity that he hadn’t the courage to show himself that day... if he had, he would not need to kill him... but as it was, everyone had agreed upon banning communication devices at the Yellow Box, and so Near would not be able to inform L of the new plan. And there was no guarantee, even if Near tried to contact L when he’d returned home, that L wouldn’t have predicted Light’s actions, and shut off communication on his end. Light knew how smart L was, and how well he’d gotten to know Light’s mind during the time they were together... it was simply too risky. And such a shame, to lose that incredible mind... they could have worked together, just as they did more than five years earlier, only this time it would have been under Light’s discretion, not L’s.

It really is a pity, Ryuuzaki... I would have wanted no other human being with whom to rule the world... but alas, you chose not to come here today... you did not want to see me. But rest assured, Ryuuzaki - we will see each other again... soon... I have been waiting so long.

“Yagami Light.”

So, so long, Ryuuzaki...

“Kira.” The calm, boyish voice from before was louder now. “I have been awaiting your response.”

Light opened his eyes, awakening from his reverie. He cleared his throat.

“Well... we will have to discuss this with any absentees...”

Near raised his head in attention, remembering something. “Oh, speaking of that... there is something you should be aware of-”

“I know, Near,” Light smiled. “I know L’s death was faked.”

Near nodded. “All right then. I will contact him as soon as-”

“That won’t be necessary.”

“...Oh?”

Light sighed. “Regrettably, L was not willing to show himself today. I know him quite well; he would not want to involve himself in a sudden change of plans if he couldn’t be a witness of the cause... he would be too suspicious of the change, and need to investigate the situation himself. Without being here, I don’t believe he would have been easily convinced. It would have been a risk... I unfortunately had to remove that risk. L is dead... I hope you understand.”

Near lowered his eyes. “...That is unfortunate, but yes. Your reasoning is valid.”

“But there is something,” Light added. “He can still be of use...”

“What is it you ask?”

Light inhaled deeply. This was it; finally, finally...

“Near.” As much as he tried to remain calm and composed, his throat went dry, and his voice cracked and trembled when he spoke his next few words. “I want you to bring me the head of L Lawliet on a silver platter.”

No questions asked.

There was a stunned silence in the abandoned building. Surely, there was some greater meaning to this request. Something to ensure his mind was preserved, perhaps? Something... there had to be; something that was beyond their understanding. Kira would know best... right?

“...All right. I will trust your judgment, Yagami,” Near said quizzically, and Light couldn’t help but feel an amused warmth run through him at the various connotations of that statement. Yes, the greatest obstacle as of yet was out of the way, and the judgment of the entire world was in his hands...

An hour passed after Near had sent his subordinates to complete the task, and they returned, apparently in a state of shock. It was true that they had seen corpses before, but there was something so eerie, so horrendously unnatural about this...

Light said nothing as they presented him with the coveted thing; he simply stood and waited for them to place it at his feet, his eyes wide with anticipation.

After a few moments of staring at it, Light lowered himself to his knees, and his eyes softened to pity, and even managed a bittersweet smile. Ryuuzaki... after just over five years, you’ve barely changed...

He touched his fingertip to L’s cold lips.

“...barely changed.”

They had touched again; his lips were so soft, still just slightly tacky from whatever sweet he must have been eating... and suddenly it was as if nothing else in the world existed - not the people around them, not the entire world Light had worked so hard to keep in order - no, nothing, only Light, and the severed head of his friend and nemesis, and it was a reward for his efforts in more ways than Light could count.

He leaned forward, ever so slowly, and as he hovered over L’s head, he tenderly placed his lips on L’s in a kiss that could not have been anything but sincere. He lingered, and his breathing became erratic. Anyone that heard him could not tell if he was sobbing or laughing; Light wasn’t sure if he knew what it was himself. It was raw, it was uninhibited, it was visceral.

Light squeezed his eyes shut. “Bitter... you taste bitter.” Light opened his eyes again and began holding L’s head in his hands, running his thumbs along his cheekbones from the center of his face to his temples as if he were trying to extract some remaining life from him... or to savor the feel of lifeless flesh within his clutches... “I always imagined that your lips would be sweet, Ryuuzaki; everything you ever put in your mouth was sweet... was I not sweet enough for you, Ryuuzaki? But you are bitter... and yet I suppose this taste suits you more, doesn’t it?” Light felt a shiver run through him. “L... is it the taste of your blood?”

Groaning, Light parted L’s lips with his tongue, and he shifted from a kneeling position to lying on his front, moving about sensually as if the rest of L’s body were underneath him, but it was only cold cement. “Ryuuzaki, look at me... why don’t you look at me... there was barely a moment between us when your eyes were not upon me, scrutinizing, taking me apart... and now that we are reunited, you do not look at me? Why? Have you found everything you were looking for?” He pushed his tongue further, prodding at L’s tongue, willing it to reciprocate, thrilled that it didn’t. “Your tongue... your tongue, flashing red at me and teasing me as it flicked your spoon, your fingers... darting poison at me like a viper with your words... well, there are no more words, are there, L? How is it that the red viper stirs no longer?”

Too hot. In a rundown building on a cold, raw day in January, it was too hot. Pulling away from L, Light removed his suit jacket. There were small flecks of blood on his lips, and more on his collar, staining the perfect whiteness of his shirt, still, too hot. He undid his tie and slowly unbuttoned the shirt, and he playfully smiled down at L.

“You did not want to see me... for one hundred mornings, one hundred nights... each time I changed clothing, it was the only time where you seemed to respect my privacy... ironic, though; it was the only time I did not want you to.” After his shirt was unbuttoned, he removed it teasingly in what would have been a perfectly tantalizing display if L could actually see it. “Ah, Ryuuzaki... there was nothing in the world as white as your body. There was nothing in the world as black as your hair.” Light thought it to be unfair, for a moment. He was putting his body on display; and he had chosen L’s manner of death, yet he still wished that he could see L’s beautiful, porcelain, deceptively frail body... but no, this made it so clearly final, so obvious that there was no going back... “...this, this is perfect, the only way... you cannot get away, Ryuuzaki, and it serves you right...” He undid his belt, his yearning pressing, burning to break free. “I was chaste, I was above temptation... of course, I had women at my feet, and I would choose to feed into their desires if it would serve other purposes in my favor... but I myself did not feel the need, I was safe from that weakening desire... was, and then you, you sent fire through my veins, you made me... look, do you see?” Light was now completely naked, exposed, unsure of if he’d ever been quite this hard before in his life as he stood with open arms. “Do you see, Ryuuzaki? This...” He frantically took L’s head in his hands and stood holding it to face him directly, their foreheads touching. “This... and you did nothing with me, nothing! Were you too absorbed with yourself to look my way?” He chuckled. “They say justice is blind...” The small grin disappeared from his face. “Well, there will be no more of that... you’re dead; I have sent you to meet your God. But the mystery of Love is greater than the mystery of Death.”

Light kissed him again; soft, brief, repeated kisses on and around his lips, over his eyes, and he moved L’s head lower so that the lips touched his neck. He pressed it to himself in such a way that the mouth opened, teeth dug into the skin over his collarbone, and Light hissed through his teeth, groaning as he exhaled. He continued to hold L this way, dragging the teeth further down his body. He fell to his knees, and there was a trail of L’s blood adorning his naked front. Panting, he now had L where he wanted him, where he’d waited for all this time.

Hesitantly, he ran his length aimlessly along L’s face, and he gasped; he was already dripping, translucent fluid leaking from the tip, pooling at the source and trickling down his cock, being smudged against the skin just under L’s eyes, and it was all Light could do not to release right then and there. He couldn’t, though, not after waiting so long, and especially not with the knowledge that this would likely be the only time he could ever do this... at the very least, it was the only time when it would so deliciously coincide with and parallel his victory. He shuddered as he let the sensitive apex rest upon L’s lower lip.

He spoke to L as matter-of-factly as was possible through labored, sultry breath. “Your mouth is upon me, Ryuuzaki... finally... I had planned for this, imagined it countless times, but...” His voice faltered momentarily, choking on a sigh. “...But I waited for you, Ryuuzaki. I wanted everything about this to be with you.” He paused, licking a fleck of blood from the corner of his mouth, and pushed himself ever so slightly further past L’s lips. His eyes widened as he saw a small hint of L’s tongue. “They say love has a bitter taste...”

Slowly, he drew L’s head closer to him, savoring every inch that L’s lips passed until at last he was buried within him. His eyes lost focus and rolled back into his head, and he let out a high, chilling moan, losing his balance for a moment as he leaned backward in bliss, pressing his hips upwards against the source of his delight. And he remained kneeling there, supporting his weight with one arm, supporting his lust with the other, and there was almost nothing visible in his eyes but white, only faint edges of his deep amber irises barely peeking from behind his upper eyelid as he continued to produce decadent, animalistic grunts, pushing, bucking further and twitching inside a mouth that could not feel such ardor. Light thought back to all the time he’d spent in confinement, all the time he spent chained to the man, robbed of his privacy, forced to stare at L’s beautiful, pale lips every day, how he couldn’t tear his gaze away from L’s tongue as it darted in and out from between those lips, and how desperate it made him... and he was desperate now, but it was he that had power over L, now, and not the contrary; it was he that had L in his absolute, inescapable possession. His sounds echoed throughout the abandoned building, mingling with idle drops of rainwater that had collected earlier.

But Light could not hear anything around him, not the creak of the large, industrial fan, not the sound of several forgotten onlookers coughing, trying to keep from getting sick, and certainly not the frightened, suppressed sobs coming from a few others. There was nothing in Light’s mind but this exquisite reunion between them; it was sick, forbidden, and yet Light concluded that it could not possibly be wrong. He realized... even after how closely they worked together, how well they were able to invade each other’s minds, after sharing a bedroom with each other... he had never felt so at one with L as he did at this moment, and Light ventured that perhaps this was what people referred to when they spoke of feelings of romance... and this sick, forbidden, beautiful union between them seemed far from inappropriate. No, this was the most fitting way they could be together, for after Light had sacrificed his soul to become a God, he had gone so long devoid of feeling... and this brought vivid life rushing back to his veins, and he relished it, what it was to be human, to feel... he was wallowing in blissful, human lust, yet at once knowing that it was fate that brought this union upon them, and that this fate was his own doing as God. At last, every part of him, every facet of all the things he desired to be, he was, and he came, screaming, and everything that Light was began to spill into L’s mouth. As he wrung every ounce of lurid fervor from his body, he hunched forward, guarding L’s precious head, cradling it in his lap, gazing at it sweetly as he gasped for breath.

“They say love has a bitter taste, Ryuuzaki,” he whispered. “Was I not sweet enough for you?” Light clicked his tongue in endearment, and he brought L’s head up to be held tightly against his chest. “But really, what does it matter? I have felt your mouth upon me, Ryuuzaki, I have felt your mouth...”

And he kneeled, basking in the glow of his doing, a beam of moonlight passing over his naked body, illumining him; he was Light, plain and clear, breathing in the frigid air.

All of this glory was interrupted by the sound of a gunshot and a sudden, excruciating pain in his shoulder. He was brought back to reality, exposed infuriated, and frightened. He turned behind him, and Matsuda stood with a smoking gun, tears streaming down his cheeks. No one had tried to stop him.

“Matsuda... what the hell are you doing!?” Light screamed. “You’re on my side, now, aren’t you? Aren’t all of you?? I wrote it down... I wrote it down, it can’t be changed!!”

Matsuda’s wheezing breaths were nearing hysterics. “You... I’m... I know, I understand, I know everything you’ve been working for, I want it too...” He stared at Light in indecisive horror. His countenance hardened, now cold as the air around him. “And that’s exactly why you should killed; someone else should take over as Kira, someone sane, because I’ll die before I accept a maniac like you as God!!”

“Matsuda, you don’t understand... you idiot, do you realize how selfish you’re being, just because of what you saw...”

“Stop it!!” Matsuda screamed. “Just shut up, you’re a monster, you’re... you’re...!!” He fired four more successive shots into Light’s body, and Light fell to the ground. He lay on his back - no one rushed to help him; no one had disagreed with Matsuda’s words and tried to defend him - he was alone, and he covered himself with L’s head, and his last breath left him as he died in terror.

OMG this is one of the best comments I've ever gotten... thank you so much!! <3

Don't thank me though, thank Wilde... although when I first read Wilde, I realized that his style is everything that I've always strived for as a writer, so... referencing him just seemed so completely natural to me.

And... for the last chunk of it (i.e. the ridiculously long streams of consciousness towards the end) I had the finale of the opera on repeat. If you haven't heard it, and have time (and aren't completely opposed to the sound of opera lol), it's in two parts:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=875izVSHLKo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VG00tbrMZW8
though I did mostly just listen to the second half a lot... but yeah I think it really helped my descriptions; I should try listening to more music when I write! :o (And dude, you can like... hear her moaning and making out with the head, it's so delightfully revolting, she's amazing <3)

Thank you SOOOOO much.

lmao at the joke

...and I think my babies will indeed be pretty fucked up, so no need to worry

ONCE AGAIN, the kink meme outshines my actual friends

since we are in the silly position of actually knowing who one another is, would you be completely freaked out if I added you? <3 D8
