I think it's great that you're even comfortable writing about this stuff early on. I couldn't bring myself to write a sex scene until I was 18, and even then I was horribly embarrassed by it, and the fact that I wrote it at all.
You just needs some research - and probably some life experience, too. For example, finding a vibrator in a gift bag doesn't automatically mean they think he's gay. Straight couples use vibrators together, too, just like they might use some of the other stuff you listed. And if you already know this, I'm sorry if I'm coming off as condescending, but just keep things like that in mind when you're writing. It all factors in.
That's all plot, but writing-wise, you'll improve with time, some writing classes if it's important enough to you - and a beta! Everyone has varying knowledge and opinions about sex (and anything else in life), so it's always good to hear someone's input not only on the writing but on the flow of events in the story.
Anyway....... once you're more comfortable with this, it'll be easy since you're already comfortable writing about sex. Don't let wank get you down. No one has the right to deny us future porn!!

I thought it went well with Light's personality, considering he would have been paranoid to recieve such a gift, particularlly if he really were gay, so I thought it went with the story well. :)
