My First Mother's Day
When Andrew and I first started trying to conceive, Andrew wished me a happy mother's day because I was planning to be a mother, and last year Dyami called me to acknowledge me for the mothering actions I take even though I did not yet have children. This mother's day, our daughter was exactly 2 months old. May 7th we had a mother's day brunch at our house and then I flew to LA with Aja so that Elena could meet her Nana for mother's day. I had a salad and a soup, carob brownies and maple walnut cinnamon rolls. Everyone admired the baby and Mom said it was the first time anyone had taken her to brunch for mother's day. When I talked to Andrew we talked about making mother's day brunch an annual tradition. Dyami got me a bouquet of tulips, as well as a card which he had everyone sign. lovely!
