I have high expectations for the pie crusts...

Andrew helped => the fat was correctly measured; everything was thoroughly cooked, but not burnt; we actually followed the direction to "roll out" the pie crust with a rolling pin on a pastry board which we chilled ahead of time. I will report back tomorrow (I hope). In the meantime, I love that our house smells of pie crust and roasting pumpkin.
