Today I went in for a glucose screening test. I couldn't eat anything this morning (well, not since midnight last night). When I got there, the lab lady had me drink a small bottle of a glucose drink which tasted sorta like Sunkist, except apparently a little flat (but remember I can't taste carbonation because of my seizure medication). I will say that it did make my throat burn a bit. Also, it made me a little queasy after, and about an hour later I got a fantastic headache. - both of which are common side effects. Apparently some women throw up trying to drink it. :( After one hour of waiting, she drew my blood. My doctor will let me know if I need to go back in for another test.
Yesterday I had a regular check-up with Dr. Sutton (my baby doctor). He said the baby seemed good. The nurse was tring to get her heart beat and was feeling around my stomach with the monitor and Scarlett kicked her. The nurse kinda jumped and laughed. It was funny. Anyway, her heart rate was 131, which is just fine. Dr Sutton scheduled me for an additional ultrsound toward the end of this month just to make sure everything is going well.
After that, I drove over to see Mom. We ate lunch, went to costco, then to Ikea, where she bought me the giant bookshelf we wanted for the nursury. Finally, things are starting to come together. I'm very happy. :)
Also, Scarlett can definately hear Greg. She often wakes up when I'm sleeping in the morning and Greg says goodbye to me. She hears his voice, wakes up and kicks me a few times, then settles down again.
And in case you hadn't realized, we settled on a name: Scarlett. Her middle name will be Marguerite, making her Scarlett Marguerite Cragg.
