sonic youth
we got there at about 8:30, expecting SY to be on about 9:30-10ish.. but obviously we were a bit wrong. straight after benfwah and i rocked up, there was some guy making cool noises on his guitar, well cool for about 5 minutes. a digitech wammy pedal + lots of gain a 45 minute act does not make. ben and i buggered off to sit ou a couch till closer to SY's start time.
jo mascus started sometime after the balding guitar masterbator finished. i knew before i went that id hate mr mascus, i actively dislike everything he's ever done, and lets say that his live show (with just him) didnt change my outlook on his music, he didnt seem to be enjoying it too much either, oh well his problem
sonic youth were good, not brilliant, but good. solid. they showed flashes of brilliance, but were a bit flat in the middle, youth they certainly are not, but they are a pretty tight band :).. good night in all.. specially heading out to see phill k afterwards :)
