I saw something in Memphis last week that prompted me to want to make sure that every knows something very important: If you find a potentially stray animal, most likely a dog or a cat, and you decide to take it and try to find the animal's previous humans, do not post signs broadcasting a "Lost Dog" or whatever....at least not as a first step. The very first thing you should do is take the animal to any vet or animal shelter and have it checked for a microchip...also, make sure they look hard, some times they get dislodged. These chips, if present will tell you who the original human was and how to find him/her.
Similarly, if any one gets a dog or a cat, I highly recommend chip implantation. Same thing goes for girl friends, but I think you need to drug them for implantation.
