Love that movie and that speach! :-)

Although, Justin tells me the movie's premis is flawed - the likely reaction of the public to a (single) president dating would be to gush about it, increasing his polling numbers rather then decreasing them.

I have a feeling it would depend on the individual he was dating. If the woman projected a "mainstream" image, then yes, they'd gush. Someone who was more "fringe" (ugh. I hate that word, but I can't think of a better one right now) would get a much mess welcoming response.

Different scares the sheeple. And the idea of the person with their finger on the nuclear button being influenced, even in a little way, by someone that's different than them is terrifying. (Might be the reason Dick Cheney and Sarah Palin scare the crap out of me...)

Agreed. I was being a bit more general (and a lot more cynical, as usual), I'm afraid. I agree with the statement that the movie plot was flawed and why.
